A Must Read, explaining much

September 9th 2008 21:54
I urge everyone to read this post, carefully. It explains clearly why Senator Obama is not 15 points ahead and illustrates the mystery of the GOP's numbers.

Jim man you got to get real, if Reagan had not been elected America would have ceased to exist today. Jimmy Carter was and still is the worst President we have ever had or will ever have unless Barack Obama get elected.

We will go back to double digit inflation, high interest rates, and fade back into a national depression. Jim I know you can remember how people was so depressed and actually hopeless when Jimmy the traitor was president.

Wht not apply the Ronald Reagan test question: Are [you /the economy, / the country.] fill in the blank better off nowq than was the case 8 years ago? Unless "you" are a CEO of a big company, make an income at the top 1 or 2% or are other than average, the answer is NO.

Jim I am definitely better off than I was when Jimmy Carter was president, and so is our country.

You may, indeed, be "better off" but the manhy people whose homes are in foreclosure, the people who need two or more jobs to make it week-to-week, the businesses who are squeezed by high gas prices probably feel differently. There is no question that the top 1 or 2 % in income are doing far, far better. The seniors on a fixed income (as I am) are doing far, far worse.

Well when Jimmy Carter was President I was 4 years old but I am going to assume my family was doing ok since I did get everything I wanted for Christmas. I should hope regardless of who is President, it wouldn't take one 30 years to get their act together....so I am happy to hear Lester, that you're better off.
I can say that since I have been a working adult, over the last 8 years most of the American people, people I know, people I've heard of are experiencing struggle.
Typical of the right, all I've heard from most republicans about the state of this country is me, me me,IIII.
McSame is not going to make things different for anyone.

Smooth Political please don't assume, you know what they say about assuming. The only thing I see different is the high energy prices that the dems have caused by failure to allow more drilling.

I know you say drilling alone will not help, but just talking about more drill drove down prices. You can say whatever you want about John McCain, but he still is much better than Barack H. Obama.

Maybe you should look back at some news reports when Jimmy the traitor was in office, America was in the darkest hours of our nations. We had no respect in the world. Inflation was double digit, interest rates enormous high.

People groped about in depression, because the unemployment rate was at double digit highs. So if you lived through that you would remember, we are living a life of luxury compared to that dark and desperate time. Which Barack H. Obama wants to take us back.

Lester, please cut out the Jimmy the traitor silliness. "Traitor" is a constitutionally defined crime and using ity willy-nilly (as your friend SL does) diminishes you, the English language and any modicum of reason in your posts. This "traitor" business has been the subjedct of many thoughtful and lucid posts by several writers; if you have a specific issur with President Carter or hos policies, by all means explain. But don't just use cute nick-names in lie of accuracy.

I, and many others, liberal and conservative, have had enough of the names. And you, my friend, used to avoid the cliches and names. Whay happened?

To one and all: Please excuse the typos. I really am able to spell but my fingers are going faster than my brain. A result of age.
