A "Must-Read" Post
July 25th 2008 11:10
RubySoho has published a post on her excellent site, Thought Zone, that should be read by everyone.
Really Long Link
The article and the references to other Orble postings are well-researched, cogent and fairly presented.
It's a gem

Rhythmatism
Budget Centsability
The original post on feminism that started it all by Morgan Bell was also well written and researched and shows how something that starts as one thing can be twisted to try and look like it represents something else entirely. Both are must reads - for the posts themselves and the interesting comments that follow.

Isn't it funny how these things explode out of seemingly nowhere. I'm sure Morgan had not the faintest clue what her post would lead to.
But I just want to stress that I wrote my post because I am genuinely disturbed at the material which is the focus of it. Violence against women should not be tolerated and when I read comments that claim that women are asking for it and are responsible for this violence, then I feel a responsibility to speak up.

it is unacceptable to approve of violence towards women

scantily clad women, promiscuous women, unmarried women, lesbian women, women who use contraceptives, disobedient women, outspoken women, women who work in non-tradtional careers, atheist women, muslim women, christian women, jewish women, pagan women . . .
ANY WOMEN . . . FULL STOP!
and thanks to Cheryl for the kind words about my own post!
