Back to the good fight

:
Last September, I submitted a post explaining that I had been in the hospital and anticipated rehabilitation in a facility in Tampa. The residential portion of the therapy program ends this week and I am finally going home!
Meanwhile, I have been keeping up with current events, at least to some extent. I note that, during my incapacity, little has changed. The GOP continues to be dominated by the Tea Party while more responsible main-stream Republicans are beginning to understand their predicament! The most likely GOP nominee is likely to be Mitt Romney, whom the Tea Party distrusts as being, God forbid, a centrist. Some of the Far Right would accept nearly anyone if it would oust the President; some would rather keep their purity and start a third party although that would making an Obama defeat less likely.
Meanwhile the protests in the street continue and expand. Large numbers of people are coming to the realization that what progressives have stated is true. The gap between the top 1% of the people and the rest of us is growing larger.
Corporate interests have purchased Congress, of both parties. The power of large insurance companies and drug companies has become oppressive. The President is beginning to act like a leader, calling out the Congress for opposing and Obama proposal even one that had been supported by past Republicans. Many in Congress would prefer the United States to be in crisis rather that allow President Obama any measure of success.
In any event, I'm back. And I hope to ruffle some feathers as we go forth.
