Biden admits that Obama will cause a crisis

October 20th 2008 18:42
Kudos to Joe Biden for being a rare thing, an honest politician which is shocking since he is a Democrat. He admitted that there will be an international crisis if Obama is elected. Just so the world can see what he will do. You can read the entire statement by clicking this long link.

He admits that because of Obama’s inexperience that people will test him. He did NOT say that electing McCain will cause an international crisis. With the United States involved in two shooting wars, this isn’t the time to encourage a new war to break out.

China, Russia, Iran, and South Korea among others will all be wanting to see what Obama is made of. Russia has already shown it’s muscle by attacking Georgia earlier this year.

Look for South Korea to start flexing it’s muscles and for China to threaten Taiwan. In my opinion the most likely scenario to involve actual combat will come from Russia or Iran.

Russia may well take on Georgia again or one of it’s other former republics. I do not think this would being U.S. Troops into a fight unless it is really large scale.

I think Iran will immediately step up it’s guerilla operations in Iraq if not openly send troops into the war. It could also launch a join attack against U.S. troops in Iraq, as well as Israel. They would hope to draw in other Arab countries to try to sweep allied forces out of the Middle East. It may even work except for one thing. Israel would use nuclear weapons. This could well cause other countries such as Russia to use them.

It is also possible that some of Russia’s missing nuclear weapons are in the wrong hands and in the area to be used at some opportune time. The United States conventional military is very low at the moment. Trying to fight two wars with a undersized and badly equipped military is not a good thing. That will tempt other countries to see what they can get by with.

Obama’s inexperience coupled with the perception that he favors Iran will tempt them to do something if he is elected. I do not think Obama will sit and watch Israel be mass attacked without sending in American Troops. But I do think his election will cause deaths somewhere when some country tries to test his mettle.

Of course these things could also happen if McCain is elected but it is less likely. McCain understands our military and it’s capabilities. He could quickly rise to an international crisis and respond in the proper manner.

Iran has a history of acting after one of our elections. During the Iran Hostage crisis they held the hostages until after the election. When Reagan took over from Carter, the hostages were sent home. The Iranians knew Reagan was a Hawk and would get the hostages one way or another.

"Stand up Chuck! Oh, God love ya! Everybody stand up for Chuck!"

"Three letter word: jobs, j-o-b-s."

"You can't go into a 7-11 or Duncan Donuts without having an Indian or Arab accent."

I want to see the RNC/McCain campaign running this quote over and over again . . .

An interesting and worrying post, bravo, for his honesty, but could we have larger type please your type is unfortunately ridiculously small, makes the reading tedious and I for one, am unlikely to call back if I need to squint.

Hey Randy great post, a very good read, but katyzzz is right very hard to see.

As proof that a liberal is understanding and compassionate, I have increased the fonts.

Howevere, there is no suggestion by anyone, including Joe Biden, that Senator Obama would "cause" an international crisis! That accusation is totally unworthy of you.

Biden said if Obama wins there will be an international crisis. He didn't say there would be one if Obama lost. Looked pretty simple to me.

Perhaps after thinking about it, Cause is a strong word. However I don't think there would be one if McCain wins and apparently Biden feels the same way.

Maybe I should have worded it. "Electing Obama would allow an international crisis to happen"

I'm sure that Obama and Biden will handle any crisis that arises - they can't do any worse than Bush has done - and I'm more confident in their abilities than McCain's and Palin's.

Thanks, Jim, for increasing the font size - I was going blind reading!

I think you are secretly in love with Barack Obama.

You know what they say about little kids in the playground? If a boy bullies a girl - chances are he has a crush on her.

You are that little 8 year old boy.

God America needs to scrap these year long campaigns. So self-indulgent.

I don't think the term "cause" is inaccurate, Randy. Obama's uncertainty, waffling, inexperience, dishonesty and ineptitude will "cause" Iran, Russia and maybe even China to push the proverbial envelope to see how much he will take. Just like Jimmy Carter (whose policies Obama seems to favor) when he was tested by Iran, Barack Obama would be weak, indecisive and incompetent.

Remember that Bush was an unknown commodity when he took office and the terrorists assumed (wrongly) that he'd be the same push-over that Clinton was.

Please accept that I am not being sarcastic when I express my pleasure and admiration for your joining in a discussion on my site. While you are I have dissimilar political and social views, I would hope that our fundamental love for our country is identical. I am certainly appreciative and respect your passion – just as I know that you reciprocate. Thank you for your comments on a site that respects all polite comments.

As to the merits of your comment, I respectfully disagree as to Senator Obama’s alleged “uncertainty, waffling, inexperience, dishonesty and ineptitude”, I do not see it. On the other hand, Senator McCain’s uncertainty about the economic conditions in the country and his poor judgment shown by his selection of Governor Palin is disturbing to me.

Both men are honorable, honest sincere people. I just think Senator Obama is the better choice.

Again, thank you for being willing to discuss issues on this site.

And thank you, Jim, for having Randy as a guest writer. He's the reason I stopped by.

McCain's admission that he's not an economist was hardly worth mentioning, since he (as all wise people do) will surround himself with advisors who do understand the economic details. I'd like to also point out that it was President Bush and John McCain who saw what was happening with Fannie and Freddy and tried to get something done. It was Obama, Biden, Dodd, Frank, etc. who denied that there was a problem and assured us all that Fannie and Freddy were just fine, only months before the collapse. They were the ones who profitted most from the disaster and made sure it (and their ill gotten gains) were safe right up to the end. Obama has secured his new financial advisor, Jim, the same guy that ran Freddy into the ground. Says a lot for his integrity, doesn't it?

Did Hades just freeze over or what? S,L. and Jim having a polite discussion.

Not just taking a cheap shot but I honestly shudder at the thought of Obama and his advisors touching our economy.

I'm beginning to like Biden, too, Randy. Every time his sticks his foot in his mouth a little bit of the truth leaks out. LOL His gaffs are getting to be legendary! The latest one is a little chilling, of course. His guarantee that Obama will be "tested" by an international crisis in the first six months. And his admonishment that it won't appear that they'll be doing the right thing to solve it. He wants us to go along with whatever they do and trust that it'll all work out for the common good. Just the sound of it puts my teeth on edge.

I disagree with your reading of Joe Biden’s remark, of course; but even if you accept your viewpoint, for the sake of discussion, doesn’t this look badly for Governor Palin?

Hey Jim I don't mean to but in, and this is only my opinion, but it's not Sarah Palin that will be tested if John McCain wins. It will be John McCain as president he will be the one with his hand on the crisis not Sarah, if anyone is stupid enough to test him.

Now if everything goes well, and I hope it does, then maybe Sarah will be in control 4 to 8 years down the road. Then it will be her time to show just how wrong her critics have been.

Actually, Jim, Governor Palin has far more experience that Barack Obama, so if experience is your only criteria for judging a candidate, you should be delighted with her and concerned about him. Or perhaps you, like many liberals, can't abide the idea of an attractive, knowledgeable, pro-life female candidate (or politician). It seems that the left only likes liberal women and blacks. I'm sure that Michael Steele, Alan Keyes and Gov. Palin would agree with me.

You're right, Lester. McCain said he'd only have one term and by the end of that term, Sarah Palin wil have had ample time to show what she can do. I don't think she'll let us down!

The big difference here is that when Obama picked Biden, the MSM said he picked him to bolster his foreign policy experience (he had none, so he picked a 30 year US Senator). Biden saying this says that he thinks our enemies think Obama is weak, and he's right. Biden said so himself in the primary. If you take what he said about Obama before being named VP and what he said here, he is clearly still believes Obama is not ready and that our enemies agree.

Kennedy took office, Kruschev looked at him and saw a young, inexperienced man and challenged him.

Reagan took office and the Iranian Mullah's let the hostages go (the myth of negotiations for this has been disproven). They knew Reagan was nobody to mess with.

Our enemies will look at McCain (notice Joe didn't say anything about what would happen if McCain was elected, even after realizing the press was there recording him) and see Reagan II and realize they can't risk it.

Does Biden help Obama's image? No. Biden's FoPo:

- We couldn't succeed in liberating Kuwait, so voted against it. We were very successful.
- He proposed dividing Iraq into three parts along religious lines, ignoring those lines are not fixed and they all consider themselves Iraqis first.
- When Obama's first comments suggested Georgia and Russia were equally evil after Russia's invasion, did he go to Biden for advice on how to respond? Because his response was wrong and it took four days to get to the point of what McCain said right away.

It's possible that Obama's inexperience will help lead to a crisis, or cause a crisis to become worse. That being said, the title of this post is an utter lie, and the only way I can rationalize it is to believe that the author is sensationalizing on purpose to get more clicks.

No, he really believes that stuff!

I do not. But Randy was (and still is) welcome to express his views here.

That's the problem with we liberals.
