I’m going to be away for a while.

As many folks know, after retirement I realized that I needed a part-time job so that I wouldn’t become old. The money was welcome, also; I am still getting old, however.
Last year I started working during the tax season with a really fine group of people, the managers and staff at Jackson-Hewitt Tax Services. The operation last year was owned by a franchise, as are many Jackson-Hewitt offices. The work was fascinating and challenging, the only drawback being I couldn’t get enough hours to work.
There is a new franchise owner of the offices in which I worked LFL Financial Services d/b/a Jackson-Hewitt Tax Service, with a home office in North Carolina. I have had the pleasure of meeting the franchise owner, Paul Reinhardt, who seems to be a person who is sincerely interested in the employees, has a realistic attitude. His senior staff up north (we in Florida consider the Carolinas definitely “up north”) is courteous, helpful to a fault and I am anxiously awaiting the start of the season.
In the meantime, however, I have a number of training courses that must be completed by the end of this month. These are going to take all of my time for the next weeks.
Please, my conservative friends, don’t post too many outrageous comments until I can respond!
