I’m proud of John McCain for avoiding negative campaigning.

Both Senator and Mrs. McCain have stressed within the past several days that his campaign will not be a negative, name-calling affair. Not for them would be the Swift-Boat accusations or the Willie Horton shameless ads of previous GOP campaigns.
So who was it that said that Hamas supported Senator Obama? Who was it that proclaimed that terrorists wanted Senator Obama to be President? Who suggested that Senator Obama was like “The Manchurian Candidate”?
The last example is truly weird.
That motion picture was about a prisoner of war during an Asian war who becomes brainwashed during captivity. Hey, Senator McCain, best not go there!
Anyway, I’m looking forward to an uplifting and positive campaign.
Starting when?

If McCain really is looking for a clean campaign he probably wants to run against Obama who is acting on the same principles.

IF he starts with the name calling, it will only make him look all the worse, and Obama all the better.
Obama has a strong position as long as he dosn't ruin the image like McGovern did (see Hunter S Thompsons Fear and loathing on the campaign trail 1972 for an extenstion on these ideas and McGoverns 'Eagleton affair')
