The moment McCain lost the election
October 17th 2008 01:26
After nearly 20 months of primary and general election campaigning, a particular negative campaign at that, the American public was getting impatient. It wasn’t the most negative and nasty campaign in recent memory; the United States’ use of name calling and exclaiming the charterer flaws of opponents in lieu of stating one’s own position continued. After all of that, it boiled down to one comment by John McCain.
The general issue was “abortion”. Senator Obama stated that he has, in the past and would continue in the future, support sex education and teach personal responsibility all to the end that abortion be safe and rare. He added, however, that he opposed legislation banning abortion that did not protect the health of the mother. Decisions as to abortion, the Democrat said, were to be faced and answered by the woman, consulting with medical and spiritual consultants; the mother’s health was a factor limiting the law’s condemnation.
Senator McCain mocked the concern for a woman’s health. In trying to paint Obama as being for the great Republican bugaboo of late term abortions (because, you know, there are so many women running around and deciding after being pregnant for six or more months that being pregnant is no longer convenient for them), Obama replied that he didn't vote for the late term abortion ban because it had no provision for the health or life of the mother. And that's when McCain proved how heartless and clueless his party and its supporters are.

Again…just again, an example of the eloquence of Senator Obama, health (indicates air quotes) of the mother. You know that’s been stretched by the pro-abortion movement to mean almost anything.

How any woman in America can vote for him after that is beyond me.
"Health" of the mother? Seriously? Stupid Obama. Doesn't he realise that women are merely incubators? "health" of the mother. hahahahahaha!

a) it was redundant, there were already laws in place stating care should be given, as well as the hypocratic oath all doctors take
b) the particular wording of the bill was designed to acknowledge a fetus as a "person" which would undermine Roe vs Wade
even the Federal bill that was proposed had to be re-worded before it was accepted

John McCain is a patriot, and a real American hero, and Barack Hussein Obama in my opinion is a American zero.

Is this your sole criterion as to loyalty and patriotism? If you believe that, again, good luck.
Please allow others to take a broader measure.

the Illinois bill that was proposed tried to declare a pre-viable fetus as a person, which it is not
in the Federal bill Democrats insisted the following sentence be added before they passed it in Congress in 2002
"Nothing in this section shall be construed to affirm, deny, expand, or contract any legal status or legal right applicable to any member of the species homo sapiens at any point prior to being born alive as defined in this section."
Obama has said he would have supported the Federal bill with its ammendment
in 2005 a "Born Alive" bill passed in Illinois after another clause had been added that explicitly stated that the legislation would have no effect on existing state abortion laws
and just a little more about the bill being redundant:

Oh yuck. The pro-life movement is just yuck. Just go away. Leave me and my uterus alone.
