What a good Liberal/Progressive should be reading.

I have, on occasion, berated Orble writers of the more Conservative stripe for reading and obtaining news from Fox News and its commentators.
I confess that I spend too much time on-line and now that my part-time, seasonal job is over, my sitting at the computer for hours drives The Lovely Joan, my wife for nearly 50 years, crazy.
For anyone who cares, these are the sites and materials I read nearly every day – and I recommend them without reservation.
First, I read the New York Times and Washington Post as well as my local newspapers, the Tampa Tribune with its Conservative bent and the St. Petersburg Times, known (lovingly, I am sure) locally as the St. Pete Pravda.
On the more liberal side, I subscribe to the on-line versions of The New Republic, The Nation, The Huffington Post, Politico.com, Slate, and Salon.
Somewhat in the middle, I at least skim Time, Newsweek and Media Matters.
To see what the “other folks” are thinking, I suggest Human Events, a journal that covers many responsible spokespeople for viewpoints which I usually reject and includes some writers I consider just nutty.
To show that I can be driven nutty myself, I listen to MSNBC and Olbermann and usually read the Fox websites.
Every now and then, I have a beer.
