WWW outdoes herself

November 19th 2007 00:07
In a recent post, my fellow writer outdoes herself. In a short post, only 212 words, she manages to suggest that Senator Clinton “has some dirt on” Senator Obama. She, immediately, acknowledges that there may not be anything scandalous in his background but, just for the fun of it and just on the off chance the snickering reportage sticks, WWW suggests possible scandals that might, just might, be true!

What can she use to tar Senator Obama? Here WWW puts words in Senator Clinton’s mouth and suggests possible areas in which Senator Obama just might have flaws. Not that she is accusing him of these issues, but, what the Hell, it’s fun to make the suggestion.

The first suggestion is that, perhaps, Senator Obama is being unfaithful to his wife. Just perhaps. This suggestion has a dual bonus: one can blast the Senator from Illinois, but it allows her to bring up President Clinton. But first, a reference to Gary Hart and his dalliance upon the yacht, Monkey Business. Perhaps Senator Obama is unfaithful. Of course there isn’t a shred, a scintilla of evidence to suggest such behavior but that doesn’t even slow down WWW in her desire to ruin the reputation of a political adversary.

“Who knew back then that cheating on his wife would be a resume enhancing issue? Look how Bill (the Zipper) prospered while he was cheating on Hillary!”

Perhaps President Clinton prospered because of sound fiscal policies, a refusal to embark on a ill-conceived war, a reduction in the national debt. President Clinton endured the most viscous and hateful accusations, including murdering an associate!

Still, WWW raises other possible scandals. Drugs? Nope, he has, according to WWW, admitted to being a user of cocaine. Could the Senator be gay? Could it be that he is ideologically a Muslim, could it be that the Senator attends a “white-hating church”?

What evidence is there to support any of these matters – that is outside of WWW’s feverish imagination?

Senator Obama has acknowledged that, as a teen, he did experiment with cocaine, although not heroin. In the book, Obama acknowledges that he used cocaine as a high school student but rejected heroin. In an interview during his Senate race two years ago, Obama said he admitted using drugs because he thought it was important for "young people who are already in circumstances that are far more difficult than mine to know that you can make mistakes and still recover.”

Senator Obama has been frank and candid.

The suggestion that he is homosexual is without basis in fact, although it wouldn’t bar him from public office, notwithstanding the homophobia of WWW. By the same token, his early Muslim education has been fully explored.

So where did WWW get this smear ammunition? There is a publication of right-wing ideologues, Human Events, filled with the utterances of Ann Colture and her friends, in which they substitute volume for accuracy.

Does anyone take Anne Coulter seriosly in America?
I thought that she was just enterainer playing role.
Or is she like a young sexy MacCathy?

Suggestion of possible scandals is a suggestion based upon idiocy.

The saying goes : "Put up or Shut Up."

it makes perfect sense to me that a man who is running for president of the united states would cheat on his wife, because there would be so much upside..... and as for the rest of it...I don't really have a view as to who i support being an aussie I don't really care either way, ,,, but maybe it is time for a Black, Gay, Muslim President anyhow...the world would probably be a more balanced place...

cheers

Louie

PS Great story.

Damo, you would be surprised how many people in America take Ann Coulter seriously. I know, from the outside looking in, she seems like just a blowhard with no following, but that is not the case. She speaks for a segment of America who are very much in line with and supportive of what she says. And Jim, this kind of tripe that "WWW" spews out is to be expected.
